SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH

A tribute to BLACK SABBATH & JUDAS PRIEST rolled into one!

When Houston's own metal legend and veteran metal vocalist, James Rivera, decided to compose a new tribute band in the year 2002, he combined the forces of the godfathers of heavy metal to create the ultimate BLACK SABBATH and JUDAS PRIEST tribute, in which he entitled 'SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH'.  Widely known throughout the years as the voice behind Progressive Power Metal Movement founders, HELSTAR, Rivera has a huge name of his own in metal and most audiences who have witnessed his tribute acts agree that Rivera fronts the most exceptional PRIEST and SABBATH tribute on the metal scene today. 
 
SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH began as two separate tributes, CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE, A Tribute to BLACK SABBATH, which originated in 1997, and METAL GODS, A Tribute to JUDAS PRIEST, was established in 2000.  Both were introduced and rapidly gained popularity on the local Houston, Texas scene and before long, shows were booked regionally, and as a result, the bands performed to packed houses as far as Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona.  These specialty shows were created to fulfill Rivera's love of performing heavy metal music, showcasing the effects these idols have had on his career.  Rivera continues to perform with his tribute act during time periods when he is on break from recording or touring with his original acts.  

Today, Rivera has some of the most elite ranked amongst the Houston based musicians, backing him in SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH.  These members include drummer Ralph Mendez, who has accompanied Rivera since the inception of CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE, bassist Andy Guerrero, guitarist John Gabriel, and finally, also on guitar is former HELSTAR member, Mike Heald.
